In May 2020, Sorubhh K Bharti, Founder, Bharat Alt Fuel Pvt. Ltd. approached the incubation center at Audisankara group of institutions at Gudur, Nellore seeking seed funding for his business idea which was to set up a business with an integrated ecosystem approach towards mobility, energy production & energy storage business. In series of discussions and presentations with his team from Mumbai the idea was shared with various investors.
Dr. Vanki Penchaliah, Chairman Audisankara Group of Institutes met the team from Mumbai & liked the “Bharat-first” approach of the team. Impressed with the vision & business plan he decided to come on board as a seed investor. The company raised its seed funding of 3.5 Mn USD in addition to the land for setting up a manufacturing unit in Chennai. Today Headquartered in Mumbai, Company is fully operational with two business interests – ALTERNATIVE FUELS & ELECTRIC MOBILITY.
The company has signed a technological collaboration MOU with a US-based EV mobility company for research & development of the products. However, the products will be 100% made in India to support the Make In India initiative. In addition, Bharat Alt Fuel is engaged with various Public & Private sector companies in Solar EPC work in India & abroad. Bharat Alt Fuel Research Centre (BARC) also achieved a breakthrough in empowering small farmers of India by developing a self-sustained smart Agro mill concept and the first of its kind will be operational at Maharashtra, Dist. Dhule by the year 2022. The company is also engaged in deploying Solar Pumps at a larger scale in various parts of Western & Southern India under PM KUSUM PROGRAMME. In addition, the installation of charging infrastructure is also moving at a fast pace in Maharashtra & Tamil Nadu.
